We love our canine residents. They add a special dimension to our lives. Regretably, we have received complaints concerning unleashed dogs and aggressive behavior towards residents and their dogs. Residents should not be afraid to walk their dogs in the community. Chatham County has ordinances regarding owners controlling their dogs. Owners who do not keep their dogs on a leash while in public are subject to citations and fines, with the fines ranging from $350 - $1000. Anyone who observes unleashed dogs or feel that dogs are behaving aggressively should take a photo as evidence and file a complaint with Chatham County Animal Services. We understand your frustration, but if you do not report the problem to Animal Services, they cannot help us control the problem. They follow-up on 100% of the complaints.
